The problem
The main markets sit at the edges of campus. Between classes, students often rely on coffee shops or vending machines, paying up to $4 for a single granola bar. In heat or rain, many skip eating altogether.
The cause
The issue is access. Over a long day of classes, limited options affect energy, focus, and the time students have for everything else.
Our solution
StarvinSlugs is a small business run by UCSC students. We set up in high-traffic campus locations with affordable snacks and drinks, so students can grab something on the way to class.
Our mission
Make snacks and drinks easy to get for UCSC students, meet them where they are, and build community through food.
